INTI Microsoft 365 Migration

Everything you need to know about the INTI Microsoft 365 Migration

Please be informed that on 11th September 2020, IT Services will be scheduling a migration of our Microsoft 365 communication and collaboration system.

This system migration will be scheduled between 11th September 2020, 10:00 PM (GMT+8) and 14th September 2020, 8:00 AM (GMT+8).

Impact of this Migration

  1. Why is this change occurring?

The new platform will provide enhanced cyber threat protection and employees continue to stay secure from cybersecurity risks even when working from home.

  1. Will there be a change to my email address?

There will be no change to your existing Newinti email address and login credentials.

  1. What happens to my old emails, calendar entries, documents and other contents stored in Microsoft 365?

All the existing contents in your Microsoft 365 account (emails, Teams & OneDrive) and Sharepoint will be transferred to the new account.

  1. What happens if I have developed Microsoft Forms or Workflow using Power Automate ?

Please reach out to IT Helpdesk (helpdesk@newinti.edu.my) before 3rd September 2020. .

  1. What happens if I have video stored in Microsoft Stream ?

You are required to download all the videos from Microsoft Stream before 9th September 2020.


  1. How do I get support?

Please contact your local campus IT Services Office or IT Helpdesk (helpdesk@newinti.edu.my)

  1. What Do I Need To Do?

The self-configuration guide will be sent to you in the next communication before the system migration.

IT Services support engineers will be on standby to have your company issued computer and mobile device configured to connect to the new email system. Please bring your company issued computer and mobile device (if any) to IT Services Office on date if you require further assistance.

  1. Do I have to do anything after the upgrade?

You will be able to access your emails and other Microsoft 365 services via the web browser as usual at webmail.newinti.edu.my

If you are using Outlook, Teams and One Drive client on INTI issued computer and mobile device, you are required to reconfigure the client application. The user guide will be shared in the next communication.


  1. What happens if I have a question or a problem?

Microsoft Outlook Configuration Guide for Windows Users

The steps below are only applicable to users using Microsoft Outlook Windows client

Step 1

Installing BitTitan Device Management Agent on your computer.

This step must be completed before 11 September 2020, 8pm.

Step 2

Configuring the New Microsoft Outlook profile on your computer.

This step will automatically be triggered from 14 September 2020, 8am onward, once you are logged in to your computer and connected to Internet.
